HSEE 2022: Registration and Application Form

IIT Madras conducts HSEE or Humanities and Social Sciences Entrance Exam for admissions to the 5-year Integrated Program M.A. Course in English studies and Development Studies. The application process for HSEE started on 9 March 2022 and will go on until 1 June 2022. The admission process is completed in three stages, which are explained in this article below.

IIT Madras has released the HSEE Application Forms on their official website. HSEE registration process to fill in the application will be completed in 3 stages –registration, filling in the application form, and payment of fees.

Stage 1: Registration
Step 1 – Online HSEE 2022 Registration
  • Visit the official website - https://hsee.iitm.ac.in/
  • Click on the 'Register Yourself' Tab
  • Enter your email ID and mobile number for registration
  • You will receive a confirmation email and a message containing the HSEE 2022 registration number and password after entering your details.

Stage 2: Filling of HSEE 2022 Application Form
Step 2 – Filling the HSEE Application Form
  • After you have completed the registration process, visit the official website.
  • Click on 'Fill HSEE 2022 Application Form'
  • Enter your registration number and password.
  • Fill in the required details in the application form.
Mandatory details required in the application form are as mentioned below:-

Explanation and Details
Name of the Candidate
Candidates should provide their name as recorded in their Class 10th Mark-sheet/certificate. Fill in the name in capital letters and give space between first, middle and last name.
Name of Parents/Guardian
The candidate should mention the name of the parents/guardian as mentioned in the Class 10th Passing Certificate/Mark sheet.
Candidates must choose their respective category from the drop-down menu.
Person with Disability
Candidates who have 40% impairment, either visual or locomotors, will be considered under PwD Category.
Choose your respective gender from the drop-down menu
Candidates must choose their respective nationality from the drop-down menu
Date of Birth
Candidate must fill in the exact date of birth as recorded in your Class 10th Passing Certificate/Mark sheet
Address for Communication
Candidate must provide a complete address on which they can be contacted. Mention the PIN Code.
Email Address
Candidates must provide their correct email address as a means of communication
Mobile Number
Enter an active mobile number, which is to be used for communication.
Examination City Choice
Out of 16 cities, candidates must choose the city as per their preferred examination centre. The examination cities to choose from are -Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Coimbatore, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jammu, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, New Delhi, Patna and Thiruvananthapuram.
Step 3 – Image Upload
Candidates must upload the required images as per the specifications mentioned below.

The photograph's scanned image should be in the Jpeg/JPG format of size between 14kb and 40 kb. The dimension of the photograph should be 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (height).
The scanned image of the signature should be in jpg/jpeg format of size between 10kb and 30kb. The dimension of the photograph should be 3.5 cm (length) x 1.5 (height)

  • Scanned copy of 10+2 class mark sheet
  • Scanned copy of category certificate (GEN-EWS-Undertaking/OBC-NCL-Undertaking/SC/ST)
  • Scanned copy of PwD/Dyslexia/Scribe Certificate, if applicable.

Step 4 – Paying the HSEE Application Fee
The institute has given the facility to the candidates to pay the HSEE fees online and offline. For online mode, candidates can pay via Credit Card/Debit Card/Net banking etc. For offline mode, candidates can pay using the Indian Bank e-challan. Besides, the bank's service charges will be charged, which are Rs. 40.

Step 5 – Form Submission
Submit the HSEE 2022 application form after you have made the payment and filled out the application form. Candidates must, however, double-check their forms and all of the information they have given on the application form. You will not be able to make any improvements to the form until it has been submitted. As a result, it is recommended that you re-check the information before submitting the form.
