AILET 2015 Analysis

The All India Law Entrance Test conducted by the National Law University-Delhi is a pen and paper-based exam. AILET 2015 was divided into 5 sections and consisted of a total of 150 questions. These questions had to be attempted in 1 hour and 30 minutes. Each correct answer carried 1 mark, and there was no negative marking in AILET 2015 examination. The overall level of difficulty of the exam varied from moderate to difficult.

AILET 2015: Sectional Overview

Legal Aptitude:

EVALUATION: The legal aptitude section was a mix of principle fact questions and current legal G.K questions. There were a total of 10 questions from the current legal section. Hence an aspirant who regularly read newspapers and kept himself or herself apprised of the current legal events, had a clear edge in this section. A good attempt would be of 28-30 questions.

General Knowledge:

EVALUATION: The 2015 AILET general knowledge section surprisingly had 80% questions from current affairs. The questions were direct, and aspirants reading the newspaper daily would have found this section to be a cakewalk. The level of difficulty of the questions was moderate. 28-30 questions would have been a fairly good attempt.

English:

EVALUATION: As is evident from the table, the focus was on vocabulary based questions, Reading Comprehension and Para Jumbles. Considering this, you should focus on these areas and practice as many questions as you can during your preparation for AILET English section. The questions were of moderate difficulty level and an attempt of 30+ questions would be considered good.

Elementary Mathematics:

EVALUATION: The overall level of this section can be considered as moderate to difficult. The 2 questions on Permutation and combination can be considered as both difficult and time-consuming. If your basics were clear, 6-7 questions could be easily solved. For time-consuming questions, it was advisable to move to the next question and come back to it later if time permits.

Reasoning:

EVALUATION: The overall level of questions in this section can be considered as easy to moderate. Questions on Pattern identification & Binary logic were time-consuming. With a thorough and clear understanding of concepts, you could easily attempt 30-32 questions with good accuracy. Though, a couple of questions were time-consuming, practising the ample number of questions would increase your speed at solving these questions.
