SLAT 2026: Overall Analysis

The Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT) is a popular law entrance exam for students all over the country. This exam grants admission to students into reputed Symbiosis Law Schools, such as SLS Pune, Noida, Hyderabad, and Nagpur, under Symbiosis International University (SIU). Many students aspire to get admission into these colleges and therefore prepare hard for the SLAT exam. Thousands of students appear for the SLAT exam each year. This means that there is a lot of competition that exists to get a seat in the colleges that students want to take admission in. The SLAT 2026 exam is scheduled in two tests: Test 01 on December 20, 2025, and Test 02 on December 28, 2025. Both tests are in the morning slot from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Students can take one or both tests, and the best score will be considered for admission. This gives students a second chance if they do not perform well in the first test.

SLAT Exam Pattern
The SLAT exam is 1 hour long. In the SLAT exam, each question is worth one mark, and there is no negative marking for incorrect answers. This makes the exam student-friendly because students can attempt all questions without fear of losing marks. The exam has 5 sections as follows:

SLAT 2026: Overall Analysis
The SLAT is a computer-based test with objective-type questions. It seeks to test the candidates' capacity for reasoning and general knowledge. For SLAT 2026, there are two exam slots, and the pattern is expected to remain the same as recent years with no major changes. The exam is known for being easier than other law entrances like CLAT, but it still requires good speed and accuracy because of the 60-minute time limit.

SLAT Analysis 2026 (Test 01)
Section-wise Details
Logical Reasoning:
This section had questions primarily dominated by verbal reasoning. There were two questions each based on assumption, argument & conclusion. There were two questions based on calendar. Remaining questions included circular arrangement, coding, blood relations. Overall feel of this section was easy.

Legal Reasoning:
 This section had fair mix of all the conventional legal reasoning based questions. This time there were a few questions where prior knowledge of law was required. The section had five questions based on facts & principal, four questions on criminal law, one question on tort and remaining on constitution. The overall feel of the section was easy to slightly moderate.

Analytical Reasoning:
This section was primarily dominated by arithmetic based questions. The questions were based on TSD, probability, SI/CI, & cat based purchase data. The overall feel of this section was moderate to slightly tough as a few questions were lengthy and a few were calculation intensive.

Reading Comprehension:
This section had three passages with 4 questions each. The passages were based on ethics in using AI in medical field, role of women in fisheries in Kerala & one was on history. The passages this time were not lengthy as they were in last year. Questions were based on facts in the passages, contextual vocabulary, inference and a few based on critical reasoning.

General Knowledge:
This section ad fair mx of current and static GK, Questions were based on recent such as awards & schemes. Static GK was based on BRICS, mythology, dance forms, folk arts etc. Overall feel of the section was easy to slightly moderate.
