SLAT 2022 Analysis

SLAT 2022 was conducted on 3^rd July, 2022 from 9 AM to 10 AM.

Symbiosis Law Admission Test(SLAT)is held by Symbiosis International University (SIU), for students seeking admission into its integrated law programs. Through SLAT, the aspirants can get admitted into B.A LL.B. /B.A LL.B(Hons)/B.B.A LL.B/B.B.A LL.B (Hons), offered by various law schools of SIU. More than 70,000 candidates opt for SLAT every year, in order to get into their dream law school.

Students generally wish to go through the SLAT analysis to get an idea of their performance and score. So, here, we present you with a complete analysis of SLAT 2022.

SLAT is a computer-based test, consisting of objective-type questions. It aims to evaluate the reasoning skills and general awareness of the candidates.SLAT 2022 was moderate in difficulty level andhad a total of 60 questions to be answered in 1 hour. Unlike the last year, SLAT 2022 was held in one slot only and had no WAT section. Listed below are the major features of SLAT 2022:

SLAT 2022 was a mix of easy and moderately difficult questions. Barring a few questions from GK and Analytical Reasoning sections, the test was regarded easy by the candidates. Here is a detailed analysis of different sections of SLAT 2022:

This was quite an easy section and had questions from common reasoning topics like blood relations, series, coding-decoding, etc. Logical Reasoning basically checks the deductive and inferential skills of the test-takers. The given table shows the weightage of different topics in the LR section:

An attempt of 9+ questions is considered sufficient for a good score in this section.

As usual, the legal reasoning section had questions from criminal and civil law (torts and contracts). Since all the questions mentioned about key principles, the test-takers could solve them without much knowledge of the law. In other words, the section mainly checked the reasoning skills of the test-takers.

An attempt of 10+ questions makes up for a high scorein this section.

This section assesses the mathematical knowledge and analysis skills of the test-taker. Here, the focus was on arithmetic, algebra, and a few topics of modern maths. The following table shows the number of questions that were asked from different topics:

An attempt of 9+ questions works well for excellent performance in this section.

There were three short RC passages in SLAT 2022, of 200-250 words each. These were easy to understand and followed by 4 questions each. RC questions were quite simple, based on synonyms, antonyms, and contextual facts. RC passages in SLAT 2022 were themed around the following:

An attempt of 10+ questions in this section fares well for a good performance.

This had questions from static GK as well as current affairs. GK section seemed slightly tricky to the test-takers. It had questions based on the latest awards, national and international events, government schemes, union budget, etc. There were 8 questions from the current GK and 4 from the static GK. An attempt of 9+ questions in GK suffices for a good score here.

After the students are shortlisted by the law institutes, they are called for further selection rounds.
