SLAT 2022 Exam Analysis
SLAT 2021 was conducted in 3 shifts. However, SLAT 2022 will be conducted on 14 May 2022 from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM. SLAT 2022 also saw a few changes in the exam pattern. So to help you get thorough with the examination, types of questions, and difficulty level below is the exam analysis based on the SLAT 2021 exam.
Section 1: Reading Comprehension
RC is generally the easiest SLAT section and comprises short passages with direct questions. In SLAT 2021, there were three RCs with four questions each. The themes of RC passages in all three sessions of SLAT are listed below:
  • Misinformation and Media
  • Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act
  • Maternity Benefit Act
  • Covid-19 and Nation-State
  • Indian Agriculture: How to Secure Forests
  • How do Detectives work?
  • Human Evolution
  • Impact of Modern Technology on Environment
  • Rudyard Kipling and Colonialism
Section 2: Analytical Reasoning
Another scoring section of SLAT, Analytical Reasoning, tests the candidate's ability to study the given data and reach the correct conclusion. This year, the section had questions from arrangements, coding-decoding, statement-assumption, number series, directions, ages, arithmetic reasoning, etc. Simply saying, Analytical Reasoning questions were drawn from a wide range of topics, yet they were easy to grasp and solve.

Section 3: Logical Reasoning
The section is said to be of a moderate level of difficulty. Questions asked in this section were easy and based on the previous year's pattern. Most of the questions in this section are from coding-decoding, verbal and critical reasoning, family-based puzzles, visual reasoning, and direction sense and number series. The questions might be tricky but are not time-consuming if you have prepared them well.
Section 4: General Knowledge
GK section is composed of questions from both static knowledge and current affairs. Across the three sessions of  SLAT 2021, there were 4-7 questions from static GK and 5-8 questions from current events. These questions were related to geographical facts, international organizations, Indian Constitution, books, covid-19, national schemes, etc.

Section 5: Legal Reasoning
This section intends to check the legal awareness of the candidate. In SLAT 2021, legal reasoning questions were mostly based on criminal law, contract law, Constitution, and Tort law. Further, around 3-4 questions were featured in the form of situational sets. The legal Reasoning section might be a bit lengthy yet fairly manageable.
