SLAT 2024: Overall Analysis
The SLAT 2024 was an MCQ computer-based test (CBT) that could be used to assess the reasoning, legal acumen, and general awareness. This trend was not any different to the past years-there were no significant surprises. It is considered to be not as tough as exams such as CLAT, but the fact that there is a strict 60-minute time constraint requires high levels of speed and accuracy.
Key features included:
  • +1 mark per correct answer
  • No negative marking (attempt all questions confidently)
  • No sectional time limits, with full navigation allowed between and within sections
The test focused on foundational skills—no deep prior legal knowledge was required for Legal Reasoning. Direct, practice-oriented questions made high scores achievable with consistent mock practice.
