IPMAT Indore 2026 Question Paper Analysis
Verbal Ability Section
The Verbal Ability (VA) section was moderate, containing a total of 45 questions. This time the pattern and distribution of the questions was same as it was in the last year. It was slightly lengthy section that featured multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and TITA questions based sentence rearrangement. Although there were no surprises except one or two idioms based questions. One of the passage based on ‘Rage Bait’ was moderate. Second passage based on ‘story of two animals ‘was descriptive and easy. Third passage based on ‘conversation on society was moderate to slightly tough. The passages were lengthy and a few of the questions based on them were tricky. After reading comprehension, the second dominating section was sentence completion which had one blank and three blanks questions. Some of these questions had options based on difficult words. Para-completion questions were moderate to difficult. Sentence correction questions were manageable. Sentence rearrangement questions were moderate to tough.Students had to choose the correct option from four choices.

Quantitative Ability (MCQ) Section
The Quantitative Ability (QA) section (MCQs) was moderate to difficult. It consisted of 30 questions. This section was quite tricky. There were questions on Averages, Ratio, TSD, Time and work, Logarithm. In Higher Math there were questions on Functions, Graphs, Sequence and Series, Matrices and Determinant. Overall students found this section the most difficult of all.

Quantitative Ability (Short Answers) Section
The second part of the Quantitative Ability (QA) section was Short Answer (SA) type, consisting of 15 questions. There were questions on Percentage, Profit and loss, Linear, Quadratic, Remainder, Races, Ratio, TSD, Time and work. Students found this section easiest of all this year. The questions were doable. Selection of question would have played an important role in getting good scores.

Key Takeaway for 2027 Aspirants
- Data Interpretation has become very important in IPMAT Indore. It has appeared in both Quantitative Aptitude sections (Short Answers & MCQ). Start practicing calculation intensive and logic based DI sets at the earliest.
- Arithmetic and Number Systems is not sufficient for preparation. You must also build strong foundations in Algebra and Higher Mathematics.
- As the exam increasingly features mixed-concept problems it is important to practice multi-concept application questions once individual topics are covered.
- Generally either two or three passages are given based on different subject areas and themes. So, build comfort with a variety of genres—factual, abstract, and opinion-based—from the beginning.
