Introduced by IIM Indore, the five-year Integrated Programme in Management is a multidisciplinary course that caters to the constantly evolving needs of the dynamic corporate world. After IIM Indore, IIM Rohtak, IIM Ranchi, IIM Bodh Gaya, and now IIM Jammu, they have started enrolling students for the Integrated Program in Management from the next curriculum.

Why IIM Jammu IPM Programme?
IIM Jammu launched IPM in 2021. The course aims to prepare young minds with management and decision-making skills that enable them to become competent leaders in the managerial field. The five-year integrated program in management is designed to integrate management education with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Thus, the institute focuses on the development of the students in all capacities of aesthetics, intellect, emotional and moral being in an integrated manner. Besides, the course provides the students with opportunities to start their careers at any point in time. It also prepares students for a dynamic work environment with competent skills.
According to NEP 2020, the institute has adopted a comprehensive teaching-learning approach, which involves engaging teaching techniques, continuous assessment, and an appropriate curriculum. The students also get adequate support from the staff and faculty present at the institute. As specified in the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the first three years of the five-year Integrated Programme in Management will develop the students with holistic skills by providing them with multidisciplinary education. However, the fourth and fifth years will be as per MBA norms. Besides, the students will be given the option to exit the program after completing 3 years of graduation in BBA. They will be awarded the BBA Degree/Certificate as per the provisions of the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The admissions to IPM at IIM Jammu are conducted based on JIPMAT scores. NTA on behalf of IIM Jammu and IIM Bodhgaya conducts JIPMAT.
IIM Jammu JIPMAT: Overview
JIPMAT or Joint Integrated Program in Management Admission Test is a national-level entrance exam conducted by IIM Jammu for admissions to IPM. The entrance exam is accepted by IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya, as they have recently introduced the IPM program in their curriculum. On behalf of the two IIM's, National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the exam. The standard of JIPMAT is to conduct admissions at the undergraduate level. IIM Jammu IPM Eligibility
  • The candidate should have passed Standard XII/HSC or equivalent examination in 2020, 2021, or appearing in 2022. The candidate should have a minimum of 60% in standard X/ SSC and standard XII/ HSC or equivalent examinations (55 % for the SC/ST/ PwD category).
  • Candidates who are likely to complete standard XII/ HSC or equivalent by the end of June 30 in the year admission can also apply, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria mentioned above. If selected, such candidates will be offered admission to the program provisionally.
  • At the time of registration for the program, such candidate must have produce standard X/ SSC and standard XII/ HSC or equivalent examinations mark sheet (securing minimum marks, as indicated above) along with a school-leaving certificate/migration certificate, failing which the candidate's provisional admission offer will stand cancelled.
  • The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in X and XII Standard would be calculated based on the aggregate marks of all subjects that appear in the mark sheet/grade sheet, irrespective of the Board's regulation. If the candidates are awarded letter grades or grade points instead of marks, the conversion of grades to the percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the Board/ Competent Authority explaining the conversion method from where they have obtained the certificate.
  • Applicants pursuing their X and/or XII standard from international schools affiliated to foreign boards like IGCSE (International General Certificate for Secondary Education) and IB (International Baccalaureate) can also apply.
  • IIM Jammu reserves the right to decide the eligibility conditions in terms of equivalence, percentage marks, and the recognition of the qualifying examination, intake, etc.
IIM Jammu IPM Course Structure
The Integrated Program in Management (IPM) duration is 5 years, which is divided into two parts of 3 years graduation and 2 years of postgraduation. The first three years that focus on the foundation of the course are based on a semester system, and the last two years focussing on management learning will be based on the trimester system, as per the prevailing course structure for MBA.
Besides a great learning experience, students at IIM Jammu will get exposure to different opportunities that will develop competent skills in them. At the end of the first year, candidates will be asked to undertake a Bootcamp in Ladakh. In the second year, the student will have to go for a Social and Corporate Internship. At the end of the third year, they can enroll in an international exchange program, and students can select a specialization based on their sector.

Internships & Exchange Programs
Social Internships
Students will have to complete an internship of the prescribed duration at any of the social sector organizations (NGOs/CSR) of their choice, subject to approval by the Chairperson (Placements). The internship would be completed at the end of Semester III.
Corporate Internship
Each student must complete a business internship during the prescribed period with a business enterprise of their choice, subject to approval by the Chairperson (Placements). This internship would be completed at the end of Semester IV.
Boot Camp at Ladakh
At the end of the 1st year, the student will have to go for a Bootcamp in Ladakh. The program aims to expose students to and immerse them in the culture and history of the country.
International Exchange Program
During the 3rd year, students will get an opportunity to enroll in an international exchange program with any of the partner institutions based on the course norms and merits. The international exchange program will provide students with global exposure to management learning.
Exit System as per New Education Policy (NEP) 2020
As per the New Education Policy provision, the students will be provided with an exit option. If the student wishes to exit after completing the third year, they will be awarded the BBA Degree. However, the students will also be given multiple exit options as followed-
  • After completing the first year and the student chooses to exit, they will be awarded a Certificate in Basics of Management.
  • After the successful completion of the second year, they will be awarded the Diploma in Management.
  • After successful completion of the third year, they will be awarded BBA Degree.
Eligibility to continue to MBA Program
A student must score a minimum CGPA of  6.00 will be required for continuation to the MBA program. After completing 3 years, the fourth and fifth years will be merged with the flagship MBA program at IIM Jammu. However, students are then required to meet the academic requirements of the MBA program.

IIM Jammu IPM Selection Procedure
  • The candidate will have to fill the application form providing all the details and required documents.
  • IIM Jammu will conduct Joint Integrated Program in Management Admission Test (JIPMAT) to test the applicant's aptitude, logical reasoning, and verbal ability. It is important to note that this is NOT the same test as CAT. This will be a separate test at the XII level. JIPMAT will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the institution.
  • The pattern for JIPMAT will be as follows –
         a. There will be 3 sections in JIPMAT – Quantitative Ability (QA), Verbal Ability (VA) & Logical Reasoning (LR).
         b. Each question will carry 4 marks and -1 negative marks for each wrong answer.

  • After the exam has been conducted, a composite merit list will be prepared based on Academic Background (percentage of marks in Xth and XIIth) and Admission Test as per the IPM Admission Policy.
Criteria for Merit List Preparation
  • The total seat intake for the IIM Jammu - IPM Batch (2022-2027) would be 60.
  • Joint Integrated Programme in Management Admission Test (JIPMAT) to be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA).
  • Class 10th and 12th marks
  • Preparation of Merit list based on JIPMAT Score and academic profile.
  • The criteria for preparing the merit list will be based on the composite score comprising the weightage of JIPMAT score, academic profile of class 10th and 12th, and gender diversity as follows:

IIM Jammu Application and Course Fees
The application form for IIM Jammu IPM is available on the NTA website. However, the course fee would be-
  • The application fees are Rs. 2,000 for General category/ OBC and Rs. 1,000 for SC/ST/PwD category candidates.
  • For the first three years, the course fee for the Indian Residents will be Rs. 4, 85, 000/- per annum. However, the course fee for the fourth and fifth year will be as per the prevailing fees of the MBA course.
  • The cost of accommodation and hostel mess charges will be informed at the beginning of the academic year.
  • Students will be allotted rooms on sharing basis for the first three years, and for fourth and fifth year, single room accommodation will be provided upon availability.
