The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore conducts a national level aptitude test once every year in April and May for admissions into its 5-year Integrated Program in Management (IPM). The selection procedure consists of two phases: Aptitude Test and WAT & PI. Due to COVID, instead of WAT & PI, Video Based Assessment was conducted for admissions to IIM IPM Program. The IPMAT 2021 is likely to be conducted in the second week of May 2021, and results will be announced in the third week of May 2021.
The 90 minute online Aptitude test consists of 60 questions. The exam is divided in 3 sections: 20 questions of Quantitative Ability MCQs (QA) and 30 questions of Verbal Ability and 10 questions of Quantitative Ability (SA). This year, IIM Indore introduced the sectional time limit i.e. 30 minutes each to every section . Nationally, over 17,000 students compete for around 120 seats.
Based on the marks obtained in the Aptitude test, candidates are called for the next round of Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). It is essential to clear the overall as well as the sectional cut-off to be called for the next round of selection. The computation of score of Aptitude test is done as follows:
Score in QA (MCQ) = 25 * (𝐶𝑎𝑛𝑑𝑖𝑑𝑎𝑡𝑒′𝑠 𝑆𝑐𝑜𝑟𝑒−𝑀𝑖𝑛.𝑆𝑐𝑜𝑟𝑒)/ (𝑀𝑎𝑥. 𝑆𝑐𝑜𝑟𝑒−𝑀𝑖𝑛.𝑆𝑐𝑜𝑟𝑒)
Score in QA (SA) = 25 * (𝐶𝑎𝑛𝑑𝑖𝑑𝑎𝑡𝑒′𝑠 𝑆𝑐𝑜𝑟𝑒−𝑀𝑖𝑛.𝑆𝑐𝑜𝑟𝑒)/ (𝑀𝑎𝑥. 𝑆𝑐𝑜𝑟𝑒−𝑀𝑖𝑛.𝑆𝑐𝑜𝑟𝑒)
Score in VA (MCQ) = 50 * (𝐶𝑎𝑛𝑑𝑖𝑑𝑎𝑡𝑒′𝑠 𝑆𝑐𝑜𝑟𝑒−𝑀𝑖𝑛.𝑆𝑐𝑜𝑟𝑒)/ (𝑀𝑎𝑥. 𝑆𝑐𝑜𝑟𝑒−𝑀𝑖𝑛.𝑆𝑐𝑜𝑟𝑒)
Final Score= Sum of above
After Video Based Assessment, the composite score is calculated for the final admission. The weightage is as followed:
|IIM IPM Entrance Components
|Aptitude Test Score (ATS)
|Video Based Assessment
||Sum of above
