What is the AILET Eligibility Criteria?

It is wise to be thoroughly aware of the AILET Eligibility Criteria before applying for the entrance exam. The following points help you detail the AILET eligibility criteria as mentioned on the official website:

Aspirants should have passed the Senior Secondary School Examination (10+2) or equivalent examination with 45% of the total marks (42% in case of OBCs and 40% for SC/ST/Person with Disability).
The AILET aspirants who are appearing in the 12th standard examination are also eligible to apply. However, it is vital that the candidate obtain their 10+2 aggregate score before the cut-off date.
There is no upper age limit for the candidates applying for AILET and seeking admission to B.A. L.L.B.
Candidates belonging to the Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)/Person of Indian Origin (PIO) category may apply under the OCI/PIO category as well as under the category of Indian students separately. In case the OCI/PIO candidates apply under the category of Indian National, they have to appear in the AILET along with other Indian students.

What is the AILET Application Process?

As mentioned before, the AILET 2027 registration window is open as of August 7, 2026, and the last date to apply is November 10, 2026. For more information on filling out the application form, refer to the points below:

Once you are sure that you are eligible to apply for the AILET entrance examination, you will be required to create your login ID online in order to access the AILET portal at different stages of the exam and selection process.
To register for the same, you will be asked to list down your personal details like name, email ID, and contact number and create a password.
Once your registration process is done, you will be required to fill in the application form by providing details like your past academic records and certificates for the same. If you fall under the reserved category, you will be required to validate your status with the necessary certificates. Please note that failing to provide any important document may result in the cancellation of your admission at any stage of the admission process.
Further, you will also be asked to select the exam centres; therefore, please ensure that you have reviewed and shortlisted your preferred location beforehand.
As a last step before payment, you will also be asked to upload a passport-sized photograph and a digital signature in order to verify your identity.
After completely filling out the AILET application form, you will be required to pay your application fee via credit/debit/UPI or net banking. This marks the last step in the ordeal; once done, your AILET application is complete.

A: The basic AILET eligibility for BA LLB (Hons.) is that the candidate should have passed Class 10+2 or an equivalent exam and secure an aggregate not less than 45% of the total marks (42% in case of OBCs and 40% for SC/ST/Person with Disability). The eligibility criteria for admission of students under the Foreign Nationals Category are 65% marks in Class 12 Board Exam.

Is there any upper age limit for AILET?
