What are the DU-JAT eligibility criteria?
  1. All the aspirant taking the DU-JAT should have cleared 12th standard from a board recognized by the Delhi University.
  2. Candidates with the result awaiting status can even apply for the DU-JAT.
  3. The General category aspirants should have 60% marks in four subjects with mandatory English and Mathematics. Along with that they should even have studied subjects from the list of subjects accepted by DU in class 12th.
  4. Here are the subjects approved by Delhi University in intermediate as the other two elective subjects other than Mathematics and English: Accountancy, Arabic, Bengali, Botany, Biology/ Biotechnology, Chemistry, Commerce/Business Studies, Computer Science/ Informatics Practices, Economics, English, French, Geography, Geology, German, Hindi, Italian, Legal Studies, Mathematics, Persian, Philosophy, Physics, Psychology, Sanskrit, Sociology, Spanish, Statistics, Urdu, History, Political Science, Zoology, Home Science, Punjabi.
  5. For the reserved category, which are, SC, ST, Children and Widows of army personal (CW), PwD, the minimum percentage required is 55% in each of the four subjects considered for computing the aggregate for DU-JAT.
  6. For the OBC (non-creamy) candidates the minimum percentage is 54% in each of the four subjects being considered for the aggregate.  
  7. Those candidates who have applied with the result awaiting status, have to produce their qualifying exam certificates at the time of counselling/selection process in BMS, BBA (FIA), and BA Hons Business Economics in the colleges accepting the DU-JAT scores.
  8. Candidates without the mark-sheets or any confirmation of the results will not be considered eligible for admission in any college of DU.
  9. The candidates belonging to any other category also need to produce and provide their certificates during the admission process.
  10. Candidates with compartment or those appearing for the improvement of class 12th board exams will not be eligible to take the DU-JAT.
What is the selection procedure for the undergraduate management course in DU after DU-JAT?
For the admission of students to the undergraduate management courses, The authority will release DU-JAT Notification with registration and examination dates. The exam is conducted for admission into BMS, BBA (FIA) and B.A. (Hons) Business Economics courses in colleges under DU. More than 22,000 students compete nationally for about 1160 seats.

After the results are displayed the students who qualify for the DU-JAT are called for counselling to the campuses by Delhi University and on the basis of the same, a merit list is prepared. Upon displaying the merit list, the students take admission to the BBA/ BMS, and BA (Economics Honours) courses.
Here are the details of processes that take place after the declaration of the DU-JAT results.
  • Based on DU-JAT students are called for BMS and BBA (FIA) programs, candidates are shortlisted for the next round of evaluation i.e. Group Discussion- Personal Interview (GD-PI).
  • Students for B.A (Hons) Business Economics are called directly for counseling.
  • Post the selection process, a comprehensive list of candidates is released for final admission by end of July.
On the basis of final DU-JAT merit list the students can take admission in around 6 colleges of DU offering Bachelors in Management Studies and 9  colleges taking students in the Bachelors of Business Administration and BA (Economic Honours) course making it a total around 1160+ students studying the business management courses.
DU-JAT reservation of the seats
As per the government of India reservation rights and policies, the percentages of seats reserved for the admission of DU-JAT aspirants in each category are:-
1. 27% of the seats are reserved for Other Backward Classes candidates belonging to the “Non-Creamy” layer (NC-OBC),
2. 15% seats are reserved for the Scheduled Caste (SC),
3. 7.5% seats are reserved for the Scheduled Tribe (ST)
4. 4% seats are reserved for the Economically Weaker Sections (EWSs)
5. 5% seats are reserved for the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD).
