NPAT 2022 Exam Analysis

NPAT (NMIMS Programs after Twelfth) exam is conducted by Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies for admissions to undergraduate programs in management. Over 80,000 candidates appear for NPAT every year. For 2022, the exam will be held from 1^st April to 10^th June 2022.

Candidates can opt for two retakes in NPAT. The best of all attempts are considered for further admission process. After the exam, candidates are naturally curious to assess their performance and guesstimate their chances of admission to various courses.

So, here we present a detailed analysis of NPAT 2022 along with the exam pattern:

NPAT consists of 120 questions divided into three sections. Each question carries one mark, and no marks are deducted for incorrect answers. The total time allotted for NPAT is 100 minutes, and there are no sectional time limits. The given table shows the complete sectional break-up of NPAT 2022:

NPAT 2022 was moderate in difficulty and comprised a blend of easy and slightly tricky questions. Just like the previous year’s paper, a few questions of quantitative ability were difficult, while the verbal section was quite easy. Here is the section-wise analysis of NPAT 2022:

This section is usually on the long side and involves many calculations in certain questions. Questions in Quantitative & Numerical Ability were based on fundamental topics of arithmetic and algebra like percentages, averages, linear equations, quadratic equations, etc. Some of the questions were also from areas like probability, trigonometry and statistics.

An attempt of 24+ questions is considered ideal for a good score in this section.

In NPAT 2022, the reasoning section included questions from Data Sufficiency, Data Interpretation, Verbal Reasoning, and Mathematical Operations.This is another tricky section of the exam. However, with the use of the right tricks and shortcuts, the candidates can solve the questions in less time.

An attempt of 30+ questions fares well for a high score in this section.

English section had questions from Reading Comprehension, Sentence Rearrangement, Fill-in-the-blanks, Error Correction, and other topics from Grammar and Vocabulary. There were 2-3 RC passages that were themed around current issues and general topics. The RC passages were short and followed by 3-5 questions each. The overall section was easy and quite manageable.

An attempt of 35+ questions with good accuracy is sufficient for excellent performance in this section.

Once NPAT results are out, candidates are required to attend the counselling process of the respective institutes, as per the merit lists.
