IPMAT Eligibility- All About IIMs’ Selection Process & Eligibility Criteria

Commonly referred to as IIM, there are a total of 21 Indian Institutes of Management in India. Out of these, seven IIMs, namely, IIM Indore, IIM Rohtak, IIM Jammu, IIM Bodh Gaya, IIM Ranchi, IIM Sirmaur, and IIM Amritsar, offer an undergraduate course, the Integrated Program in Management (IPM). IIM Indore started its first batch in 2011, followed by IIM Rohtak in 2020, and the rest introduced their programs in 2021 or later.

For the uninitiated,, the 5-year-long Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) is offered at is fully residential and has been designed to help students achieve a seamless transition from a Bachelor's degree (BBA) (except IIM Amritsar, which offers BSQFE and IIM Indore which offer BA) to a Masters Degree (MBA). All IIMs that offer IPM are known for creating a modern curriculum that gives students a well-rounded education, combining tough academic work with deeper thinking.
While all these IIMs welcome students to their IPM program with the same energy, their Entrance Examination and/or conducting body is different. IIM Indore, IIM Amritsar, IIM Ranchi and IIM Shillong accept IPMAT Indore. IIM Rohtak conducts its own IPMAT. Lastly, IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu accept JIPMAT, which is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

IIM Indore IPMAT Eligibility Criteria
IIM IPMAT Indore aspirants who fulfill the below-mentioned eligibility criteria can apply for the 5-year Integrated Program in Management (IPM) from IIM Indore:
  1. The aspirants should have scored a minimum of 60% in the 10th and 12th standard examinations. It is mandatory for General and NC-OBC category students.
  2. The aspirants should have scored a minimum of 55% in the 10th and 12th standard examinations. It is mandatory for students belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories.
  3. Candidates should have been born on or after August 01, 2007 (5 years of relaxation for candidates from SC/ST/PwD category, i.e., born on or after August 01, 2002).
  4. Aspirants who have passed 12th standard in 2025 or 2026 or are appearing in 2027, with completion by July 31, 2027, can apply for IIM IPM.
  5. The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in 10th and 12th will be calculated based on the aggregate marks of all subjects shown in the mark sheet/grade sheet, irrespective of the Board’s regulation.
  6. If the IPM-appearing aspirants are awarded letter grades or grade points instead of marks, the conversion of grades to the percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the Board or the competent authority.
  7. IPM applicants pursuing their 12th standard from international schools affiliated to foreign boards such as IGCSE and IB can apply.
  8. IIM Indore reserves the right to decide the eligibility conditions in terms of equivalence, percentage marks, the recognition of the qualifying examination, the intake of students, etc.

IIM Rohtak IPMAT Eligibility Criteria
  • General, NC-OBC, and EWS Category: Minimum 60% in standard X/SSC and standard XII/HSC or equivalent examinations, maximum 20 years of age as of July 31, 2026.
  • SC, ST, and PwD Category: Minimum 55% in standard X/SSC and standard XII/HSC or equivalent examinations, maximum 22 years of age as of July 31, 2026.
  • Reservation will be applicable as per Government of India rules after meeting the minimum eligibility criteria.
  • Students appearing in Standard XII/HSC or equivalent in 2026 can also apply for the IPM program in IIM Rohtak, subject to meeting the above criteria.
IPM Selection Process
What is the selection procedure for IIM IPMAT Indore?
The selection process for IIM IPMAT Indore includes an Aptitude Test (AT) and a Personal Interview (PI). The steps for the selection process are as follows:
Stage 1: The candidates fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria will have to submit their application for the IIM IPMAT.
Stage 2: Based on the IPM applications received, candidates fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria get a call for the Aptitude Test (AT). The authority conducts this aptitude test across the country.
Stage 3: Candidates who qualify in the AT are shortlisted for the Personal Interview (PI), which may be conducted in person or via video conferencing, depending on the institute’s decision.
Stage 4: The final merit list is prepared based on the composite score of AT, PI, and past academics (10th and 12th marks).
What is the selection procedure for IIM IPMAT Rohtak?
Stage I: Online Registration
  • Interested applicants will have to fill out the registration form to evaluate the applicant’s performance in academics and extra-curricular activities.
  • All interested applicants will appear in IIM Rohtak’s IPMAT to examine the applicant’s aptitude, logical reasoning, and English proficiency.
  • The online application form for IIM Rohtak IPMAT will open in February 2027.

Stage II: IPMAT 2027
  • Registered candidates will have to appear for IIM Rohtak’s IPM Aptitude Test. The test will assess them based on their logical reasoning, aptitude, and English proficiency skills.
  • The exam will consist of three sections, namely, Verbal Ability, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Ability, with 40 questions each. The exam duration is 120 minutes, with a sectional time limit of 40 minutes per section.
  • Each question carries four marks, with a negative marking of 1 mark for every wrong answer. All questions in IPMAT are MCQ-based.
Stage III: Personal Interview
  • After successfully clearing the IPMAT, selected candidates will be sent call letters for personal interviews. Shortlisting of candidates is based on IPMAT 2026 scores.
  • The Personal Interview (PI) evaluates the applicant’s academic performance, general awareness, and communication skills.
Stage IV: Announcement of Selection List and Offer Acceptance
The authority will release the final merit list based on the composite score. The composition of the composite score is mentioned below:

After the final compilation, announcements of the merit/rank list and sending offer letters to the shortlisted candidates will be made. Shortlisted candidates will receive the offer letter, which they have to accept within the stipulated period and deposit the acceptance fee through the online payment link provided.
