CLAT 2023 Result: Download Scorecard, Merit List, Counselling Procedure

CLAT 2023 exam has been successfully conducted on 18 December, 2022. Once the Consortium of NLUs release the result on the official website, the scorecards will be available and the candidates can download the same. Candidates can use these scores to get admission to the 22 participating NLUs and other private institutions accepting CLAT.
The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), the key to entering National Law Universities, continues to be the most sought-after law admission test in India. Cracking this exam is quite an uphill task and is formulated so that only a handful of students finally get through. It consists of five sections, namely, English, General Knowledge including Current Affairs, Quantitative Techniques Legal Reasoning, and Logical Reasoning.
Along with the CLAT results, the consortium also releases the answer key following the release of the consolidated merit list. Also, the counselling invite list will be published within a few weeks of the result declaration marking the start of the counselling registration process and fee payment.

Factors Affecting the CLAT 2023 Cut-off
The Cut-off scores for CLAT 2023 will remain similar to that of previous years and will depend on the following factors –
  • The degree to which the exam is difficult.
  • Seats are available in line with the categories that have been established.
  • The mean of all of the test findings taken together.
  • The total number of people who took the exam.
CLAT Merit List 2023: Tie-breaker
For CLAT 2023, if two or more candidates have the same score, the consortium decides the merit rank based on the criterion given below.
  • Candidates that obtained higher grades in legal reasoning will be given a higher ranking in the selection process.
  • After a second tie, the older candidate will be given priority over the other.
  • A computerized drawing of lots will determine how the candidates will be ranked if a tie cannot be broken in the first round.
CLAT Counselling Procedure
To secure their allocated seats and attend CLAT counselling sessions, the chosen candidates will be needed to pay a CLAT counselling fee of Rs. 50,000 INR, which the CLAT will collect. Applicant allocation will be revoked if the counselling fee is not paid in full by the specified time for the candidate.
CLAT Masterclass
A Group Discussion (GD) or a Personal Interview (PI) is often held following the pen-paper component of an undergraduate legal admission test, such as the SLAT (PI). While the CLAT 2023 admissions process will not include group discussions or personal interviews, students will be selected entirely based on their performance on the CLAT entrance exam, which will be offered in a paper-and-pencil format.
After passing the exam and publishing the merit list, those candidates who have been selected are called to schedule an appointment for further counselling. A candidate is officially admitted as a student of the respective NLU after completing the admissions process, which includes attendance at counselling, payment of the counselling fee and other dues within the specified timeframes, and submission of all required documentation (12th-grade transcript, age proof, address proof, and so on) to the administrative authorities of the respective NLU.
