All about NCHM JEE

Many students after their 12th exams aspire to take a course in hotel management from the top colleges of the nation. For the same purpose, the National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Tourism, conducts a Joint Entrance Exam, NCHM JEE, for the admission of students to the 3 year degree programme. The candidates taking the exam compete for a seat in their desired 21 IHM’s nationwide, with an average of 242 seats. After the result declaration, the students register for the counselling in various centres for a seat allotment in a college of their choice.
With the rise in the national economy, the hotel business is also booming in the present time. It is not only a hot career to work in the hotel industry; upon experience, it becomes a gateway to work internationally as well.

NCHM JEE Notification
According to the Govt. of India Policy, NCHM JEE 2019 will be conducted by "National Testing Agency" a Central Government Agency, created by Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India, for conducting all major entrance examinations in the country.
A dedicated portal for calling the online application to appear in NCHM JEE 2019 for admission to the 3 years, 6 Semesters B.Sc. (H&HA) programme in more than 63 IHM's (Government and private) under the academic umbrella of NCHMCT will be opened by NTA on 15 January 2019 at and the tentative date of online NCHM JEE 2019 Exam is 27 April 2019 (i.e. the last Saturday of April, as per the usual schedule so far maintained by the NCHMCT)
  • Application form to be available online from 15 January 2019
  • Last date for submitting the application form: 2nd week of April 2019
  • Availability of the admit card will be from 03rd week of April 2019
  • NCHM JEE 2019 exam date will be 27 April 2019
  • Declaration of the result for NCHM JEE 2019: 03rd week of May 2019
  • Correction in candidate's credentials, if any: May 2019
  • Counselling can be held from last week of May 2019 and the first week of June 2019
  • Commencement of the academic session: 04th week of July 2019
NCHM JEE Eligibility Criteria
Candidate willing to apply for NCHM JEE should be aware of the eligibility criteria required by the institution for the admission.
Candidates should have passed intermediate or equivalent qualifying examination with English as their core subject. The candidates who are to take the entrance exam in 2019 have to show and submit the passing certificate for the final admission at the time of the counselling.
NCHM JEE Age Limit
Candidates that belong to the General or Other Backward Class (OBC) category have the upper age limit of twenty-two (22) years as on 01 July 2019. Such candidates should have been born after 01 July 1997. The candidates that belong to the Schedule Caste (SC) /Schedule Tribe category have an upper age limit of twenty-five (25) years as on 01 July 2019. These candidates must have been born after 01 July 1994. 
Date of birth as recorded in the Higher Secondary Education Board/Pre-University Certificate will be considered and taken as the authentic and valid proof that will be accepted for the test. 
Physical fitness criteria for applying for the NCHM JEE 2019 Exam
It is mandatory for the candidates registering for the examination to submit a fitness certificate. All qualified candidates are required to provide a physical fitness certificate at the time of admission from a working Registered Medical Practitioner in the prescribed format given at ANNEXURE-I.
NCHM JEE 2019 Registration
The application form for the NCHM JEE 2019 will be made available online on the official website for the candidates who are willing to take the exam.
Registration is mandatory before filling in the online application by the candidates.
To register candidates will have to provide their contact and personal details such as the email address, mobile number, date of birth, residential address etc.
Admit cards for NCHM JEE 2019
All those candidates who have fulfilled the norms and applied successfully for appearing in the exam will be provided with the admit card. It is a must to carry it to the exam centre on the date of the examination.
The PDF copies of the admit cards can be downloaded from the official website i.e. (the admit card shall not be sent by post to any candidate). In order to obtain the admit card, Registration ID/User ID and password are to be submitted.
Reservation of Seats at NCHM Colleges
As per Government of India, rules candidates that belong to a specific category are admitted to seats reserved for them. Benefit of the reservation shall be given only to those classes/castes/tribes, which are mentioned in the respective central list published by the government of India.
- 15% for Scheduled Caste (SC) Category in Central and State IHM's.
- 7½% for Scheduled Tribes (ST) Category in Central and State IHM's.
- 27% for OBC (Central List) (Non-Creamy Layer) Category in Central IHM's.
- 5% seats shall be reserved for Physically Disabled across the board as per rules.
NCHM JEE 2019 Exam Pattern
The date of written test exam will be 27 April 2019 (Saturday, 10:00 am to 01:00 pm)
  1. Numerical ability and analytical aptitude (30 questions)
  2. Reasoning and logical deduction (30 questions)
  3. General Knowledge and current affairs (30 questions)
  4. English Language (60 questions)
  5. Question on aptitude for the service sector (50 questions)
Total number of questions, 200 and the duration will be of three hours
The question paper will be in two languages i.e. in English and Hindi (except for the English Language section)
Each correct answers under numerical ability and analytical aptitude, reasoning and logical deduction, general knowledge and current affairs, and the English Language components carry one mark each.
For any wrongly attempted answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted.  
Only vegetarian practical option in B.Sc. (Hospitality and Hotel Administration) programme will be available in all the affiliated IHM's for which the candidates will have to choose the veg. practical only, on their joining at the allotted institute after the admission process. 
Written test centres for NCHM JEE 2019
This time NCHM JEE will be an online exam only, and there will be no option for the ‘pen and the paper’ exam. The examination will be conducted in 33 or more cities of India. The exam scheme has not been changed and as per the latest information, it will remain same as that of the previous years on the following components.
