All about IPM Exam 2017: IIM Indore

The five-year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM), started by Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore is the first of its kind in India. Started in 2011, this programme targets young students with managerial and leadership aspirations and is one of the most sought after undergraduate program of the country. The programme is an integrated course; the first 3 years are of UG education and the next 2 years are of PG education.
The selection process consists of a two tier system: phase 1 is an online aptitude test on qualifying which, the candidates are called for phase 2, which is WAT (written Ability Test) and Personal Interview. With thousands of students competing nationally for about 120 seats, it is essential to stay focused and have a targeted approach to crack the examination.

Eligibility:
  • General and NC-OBC Category: Minimum 60% in X and XII standard or equivalent examinations. Maximum age: 20 yrs. as on July 31, 2017.
  • SC, ST and PWD (DA) Category: Minimum 55% in X and XII standard or equivalent examinations. Maximum age: 22 yrs. as on July 31, 2017.
  • Candidates who are likely to complete XII standard or equivalent by the end of June 30, 2017 can also apply, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria as mentioned above. If selected, such candidates will be offered provisional admission. At the time of registration for the programme, they must produce X and XII standard mark sheet along with school leaving certificate/migration certificate, failing which the candidate’s admission offer stands cancelled.
  • Applicants pursuing their X and/or XII standard from international schools affiliated to foreign boards like IGCSE (International General Certificate for Secondary Education) and IB (International Baccalaureate) can also apply.
Note: The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in X and XII Standard would be calculated based on the aggregate marks of all subjects that appear in the mark sheet/grade sheet, irrespective of the Board's regulation.

Registration process:
  • Eligible candidates should submit their online application at www.iimidr.ac.in on or before Tuesday, April 18, 2017.
  • Pay the online non‐refundable application fee of Rs. 1400 (for General and NC-OBC category) or Rs.700 {for SC, ST and PWD(DA) category}.
Note: Candidates belonging to NC‐OBC, SC, ST and PWD/DA categories need to produce valid certificate(s) in support of their reservation category. No change in the category will be entertained after submitting the application.

Selection process:
The selection procedure for the 5 year IPM program consists of 3 stages:
  • Stage 1: The candidates satisfying the minimum eligibility criteria should submit their application online.
  • Stage 2: This comprises of the 2 hour online aptitude test, which consists of 100 questions and 2 sections. The Quantitative Ability section is given 75 minutes and has 60 questions whereas the Verbal Ability section has 40 questions to be solved in 45 minutes. Candidates have to clear the overall as well as the sectional cut-off to be called for the next round.
  • Stage 3: Short listed candidates are called for Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). The list is created considering only the candidates having positive raw scores and a minimum mark in each of the two sections of Aptitude Test. The minimum cut off mark in each section will be based on the categories of applicants.
The final selection is based on the composite score, which comprises of:
