School of Legal Studies, which is one of the oldest Law schools in India, was initially a part of Kerala University, but later became a part of Cochin University in 1971. School of Legal Studies has made a valuable contribution in the study and research of law. The institute offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level programmes. The institute started its first batch of 5-year Integrated Law programme in 2009. Now the institute offers B.Com LLB and BBA LLB for the students who want to pursue a career in law.

The college follows a specific teaching pedagogy for the better learning and understanding of the students. The college asks all of the faculty teachers to prepare teaching plans and adopt unique pedagogies to impart expert training to the students. Admission Procedure
Admission to law programmes at SLS shall be made based on the preparation of rank list on the basis of scores obtained in all India Common Admission Test.
The all India Common Admission Test consists of a written test, group discussion and personal interview.
After the candidates qualify the written test, selected candidates will be called for group discussion and interview.
Institute will follow the reservation policy for admissions.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidate must have passed 10+2 examination or equivalent from a recognized board with the prescribed percentage including English as a compulsory subject.
For candidates from Commerce/Arts/Humanities stream, minimum percentage should be 50%.
For candidates from science streams, 60% is the minimum percentage requirement.
Candidates belonging to SC/ST or OEC communities must secure 40% marks to seek admission at SLS.
The maximum age for admission to 5-year Integrated Bachelor Degree in Law is 20 years for candidates in General Category as on July 1st of the year of admission.
For candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC, 22 years of age is the upper age limit as on July 1st of the year of admission.
