Key Changes in SAT
College Board announced a few changes in SAT –
  • College Board will no longer offer SAT Optional Essay and SAT Subject Tests.
  • International students applying for colleges in the US might have to prepare for the AP (Advanced Placement) Test instead of SAT Subject Tests.
SAT is conducted five times a year in August, October, December, March, and May. The candidates have a choice to appear for SAT as many times as they want. However, the College Board recommends that they take the exam twice, once in their junior year and others in the senior year. Besides, candidates 12 years and older can appear for SAT exam to better understand the exam and improvised scores.
It has been observed that the candidates score well in the later attempts than the first one. Colleges in the US, Canada, and India consider candidates with higher SAT scores when taking up admission decisions. Appearing for SAT more than two times might help the candidate achieve a higher score and improvise their skills.
A candidate should always be well prepared before giving the examination, and for that, they should know the important dates. Knowing the SAT Test Schedule makes it easier for the candidates to schedule their exams. The College Board has been effectively managing the safe conduct of the SAT exam.
