CLAT 2024 Analysis: The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) for 2024 was successfully conducted on December 3rd, from 2 pm to 4 pm. The National Law Universities (NLUs) will consider CLAT 2024 scores for admission to their undergraduate law programs. The Consortium of NLUs has introduced a new pattern for CLAT 2024, with 20% fewer questions than the usual 150. The exam now consists of 120 questions to be completed in 120 minutes. The marking scheme remains unchanged at +1/-0.25. The CLAT 2024 Exam witnessed an increase in UG Registrations by 34.7% this year. First Impressions of CLAT 2024
Like every year, the CLAT 2024 exam was conducted in a paper and pen-based mode and had 120 questions this time, spread across 5 areas:English, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, General Knowledge including Current Affairs and Quantitative Techniques..The questions carried 1 mark each with 0.25 marks deducted for every incorrect answer. The overall feel of the paper was easy to moderate as compared to the previous years. There were no surprises. The elements & pattern were as anticipated by test takers. However, this also means the cut-off will be on the higher side this year, as a result, accuracy will be of paramount importance to get a good score. Overall, CLAT 2024 paper can be considered easier to moderate and doable compared to its previous iterations.

CLAT 2024 Analysis: Section-Wise
A total of 120 multiple choice questions make up the CLAT examination, and the subjects on which a candidate is asked to comprehend are-General Knowledge and current Affairs, English including Comprehension, Legal reasoning, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Techniques. Below is a section-wise CLAT 2024 Analysis.
English Language
This section had 24 questions. The level of questions in this section was easy to moderate, and most of the passages were understandable, There were 4 reading comprehension passages. Each passage had 6 questions. The questions were primarily based on contextual understanding and application of the understanding of the passage. The questions varied from the main idea to inference-based questions etc. Passages were based on the narrative of experiences in the hilly area, the art of presenting characters in the literature, the importance of literature & on justice for the middle class. The passages were moderate in length, and two out of 4 were slightly tricky in terms of understanding. The main skills required were good reading speed and an understanding of diverse areas.
As per our CLAT 2024 Analysis, a good attempt would be around 18-20 questions and a favourable score could be achieved with approximately 20 correct answers.
Quantitative Techniques
This section had 2 sets that were paragraph-based and were based on percentage and ratio respectively. The first set was based on &‘ a census of the working & non -working population of certain areas and it had 6 questions. The second set was based on the distribution of types of automobiles in terms of diesel, petrol, & electrical engines and it had also 6 questions. Overall, the feel of the section was moderate.
As per our CLAT 2024 Analysis, a good attempt would be around 5-7 out of 12 questions. A favourable score could be achieved with approximately 7 correct answers.
General Knowledge, including Current Affairs
This year, the GK Section of the CLAT 2024 exam was of moderate level.  There were 28 questions in the GK area There were 5 passages, and each passage had 6 questions except one which had 4 questions.
The topics of the passages were a fair mix of historical context & Current Affairs of the last six months, with questions coming from diverse areas such as polity, economy, technology, and some even from unusual topics like international organisation's summit. The topics were as follows: -

As per our CLAT 2024 Analysis, a good attempt would be around 22-25 questions and a favorable score could be achieved with approximately 24 correct answers.
Legal Reasoning
This year, the Legal Section of the CLAT 2024 exam was of moderate level. There were 32 questions in the Legal Reasoning area, making it the lengthiest area of the exam. There were 5 passages, each containing different number of questions such as the passage based on Editors Guild of India concern over law on the registration and freedom of press had 10 questions. The remaining passages had either 6 or 7 questions based on them. All the passages were from current law. There was no focus on static laws except first & fifth passages had a flavor of static laws.  A few of the questions required inferential understanding while solving the questions and in some of the questions, the statements were a little lengthy.  Overall, the feel of the section was easy to moderate

As per our CLAT Analysis, a good attempt would be around 27-29 questions and a favorable score can be achieved by answering approximately 28  correct answers.
Logical Reasoning
This section had 24 questions which included 4 passages with six questions each. The level of questions in this section was moderate to slightly tough. This section contained questions primarily based on Critical Reasoning and contextual understanding of the passage. This, again, was a reading-based section with passages from diverse areas such as case study related to worker's productivity, the importance of words in a language, pressure faced by the students at coaching institutes leading to dire consequences, impact of AI.
Most of the questions were based on the application of understanding the passage & context. The questions were based on conventional critical reasoning, such as supporting the conclusion or likely or unlikely to agree with the claim made by the author. The primary skills required were again a good reading speed and knowledge of critical reasoning fundamentals.
As per our CLAT Analysis, a good attempt would be around 17-20 questions and a favorable score could be achieved with approximately 19 correct answers.
