“Bihar Institute of Economic Development”(later changed to LNMI) was established in 1973 to carry out research aimed at facilitating socio-economic development and very soon it diversified into education with courses in Office Management, Business Management, Marketing & Sales Management, and Personnel Management & Industrial Relations. As the demand for the variousManagement Programmes changed with time, some of these courses were dropped, others modified, and new ones added. Later on, the Institute was taken over by the Government of Bihar. Presently, the Institute offers courses in Management and Computer Science with appropriate support systems.

LNMI- Admission Procedure
LNMI gives admission tothe BBA course based onthe merit list.
The merit list will be prepared based ona qualifying examination or entrance examination.
The course has to be applied online by downloading the form from the LNMI official website. The application form needs to be submitted to the University office along with (application fees). The application should reach the college on or before the last date of submission of the form.
Eligibility Criteria
- For admissions into BBA courses, students are needed to clear the 10+2 or equivalent examination from any recognized board or school.
- LNMI considers the criteria for securing 45% marks in the qualifying exam.
- The age should be between 17 to 25 years.
