Every year, Panjab University, Chandigarh holds the B.A LL.B/ B.Com LL.B entrance exam. This is conducted for the admissions to the University Institute of Legal Studies (U.I.L.S) for admitting students to the 5 year integrated law course. PU CET UG 2017 was of a moderate level. Many of the questions could be categorized as straight. There were some questions which were a bit tricky, but anyone who has been preparing regularly for the exam could crack the exam.The question paper had questions from areas like: General Knowledge/ Current Affairs, Reasoning, Verbal Ability and Legal Aptitude, but without any sectional divisions.
The main highlights of the exam were:
- The paper was conducted on 23rd April, 2017.
- The overall level of difficulty of the exam was easy to moderate.
- It was conducted in offline mode for the maximum duration of 90 minutes.
- There were 100 questions and each question carried 1 mark.
- Each correct answer was awarded 1 mark and 0.25 marks were deducted as penalty for the wrong answer.
- In case, more than one option was marked, it was regarded as a wrong answer and negative marking was applicable.
- No sectional divisions of the questions.

P.U UG LAW 2017: Legal Questions

Evaluation: It is evident that the paper primarily consisted of questions from the subject area of constitution. The legal miscellaneous questions were mainly based on the current affairs from the field of law. An average attempt for the legal aptitude questions would be 18-22.

Evaluation: The overall level of difficulty of this section was easy to moderate. It comprised questions primarily based on vocabulary. While Antonyms & Synonyms and Sentence Completion were easy; Idioms and One Word Substitution were of moderate level. You should make sure that success would come only if the level of vocabulary is good.

Evaluation: This was easiest among all the sections in the exam. The 9 questions that comprised this section were from blood relations, series, coding- decoding and some were miscellaneous. An attempt of 4-6 questions was considered good to score well in these questions.

Evaluation: The overall level of difficulty of this section was easy to moderate. Majority of the questions were cake walk for the test- takers. It covered almost all the major areas of GK. A good score of this section was 42-45.
