Panjab University LL.B 2018 Analysis

Punjab University is one of the most sought after universities when it comes to students belonging to Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana and even, Delhi. The University provides for 3 year Law program, i.e. LL.B. The University provides for quality education in the field of Law and students are given a holistic environment to learn and grow. The way to get admission in Punjab University in the three year Law program is via an entrance exam which is of 100 marks. The merit list and the cut-off is calculated by taking 50 percent of the marks scored in the exam and 50 percent of the score achieved at graduation level.

Section 1: Logical Reasoning
From this section, there were only 14 questions. The questions were of medium level and the entire portion could be covered in 15-20 minutes.

Section 2: Legal Reasoning
This section was a little tricky. There were questions from law subjects which were Constitutional law, criminal law and question for Information Technology Act. But most of the questions were from Constitutional Law. The legal questions were mostly dominated by legal current affairs. The questions were in the form of multiple choice questions and for students wishing to get into Punjab University, it is important that they have GK on their tips.

Ideal attempts: 18-20
Ideal correct: 16-18
Time to be allotted: 15-20 minutes

Section 3: English
This section comprised of only 9 questions which were to an extent not so difficult to solve. Students with a decent vocabulary could have easily cracked this portion in the exam.

Section 4: General Knowledge
This section involved questions from both static and current GK in which there were mostly current affairs. This portion checked the level of general knowledge of students to a great extent. The part relating to GK dominated the entire exam where there were 58 questions which were from GK.  The level of this section can be considered as difficult.

Ideal attempts: 45-50
Ideal correct: 40-45
Time to be allotted: 20-25 minutes
