National University of Advanced Legal Studies was setup in 2005 by the Bar Council of Kerala. The university was established to disseminate knowledge and learning of law and legal education. The college focuses on the development of students and promotes legal and judicial reforms which are required to strengthen the administration of Justice of India. The institute is recognized as a centre of excellence with state-of-the-art infrastructure as well as facilities to provide students with an ambience conducive to learning.  To enhance the learning of legal education, the university has setup centres for research and study. Therefore, from campus to faculty, everything is equipped with modern technology and techniques for enhanced learning and practice of law.

National University of Advanced Legal Studies has the highly educated and highly professional faculty. The faculty members are well equipped with all the modern techniques of teaching and technology to impart law education and other courses. The college looks at developing professionals in every field and not just law. The purpose of introducing law in the college was to uplift the bar of legal education in the state with the growing requirements.
Admission Procedure
Admissions for Law programs at NUALS will be based on the performance in CLAT.
Eligibility Criteria
  • Candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board with a minimum of 45%.
  • For different categories minimum marks criteria is as followed –SC/ST exempted upto 5% from the minimum requirement, candidates belonging to Socially and Educationally Backward Classes are exempted upto 3%.
  • However, all of the categories have to appear for CLAT to qualify for further admission process.
  • Candidates appearing for board examinations in the year of appearing for CLAT can sit for CLAT exam provided that at the time of admission they submit their mark sheets of the qualifying exams to be considered as eligible.
