After the successful conduct of SAT exam, SAT Results are announced by the College Board within a month or so. Candidates appearing for the exam on the administration mentioned above must keep in mind the dates for the SAT Results and score receiving dates.
Check your SAT Result
Candidates can follow the steps to check their SAT result –
Step 1 – Visit the official College Board's website
Step 2 – Sign in to your College Board profile using your ID and password
Step 3 – Click on My organizer and then click on SAT scores
Step 4 – Click on "Access my Score" by entering your username and password
Step 5 – Go to My test score
Step 6 – Your test scores will be displayed on the screen
SAT Score
Upon the release of the SAT result, a score report is released, and the score report consists of –
- Total Score – The score is the sum of the two sections' scores, ranging from 400 – 1600.
- Sectional Score – Sectional score of the two sections – EBRW and Math Section range from 200 – 800.
- Sub-score – Sub-scores are the multiple scores for Math, Reading, Writing and Language sections are ranging from 1 – 15. The purpose of sub-scores is to provide students with an insight into the student's performance.
- Essay Score (if applicable) – Candidate's who have attempted SAT Essay will have the score mentioned in the score report – Essay Reading (2 – 8 points), Essay Writing (2 – 8 points), and Essay Analysis (2 – 8 points).
- Student's Percentile – Percentile score tells how the student has performed in the SAT Exam compared to other candidate's.
SAT Subject Test Percentiles
Candidates who have appeared for the SAT Subject tests will get separate SAT Subject Percentiles. SAT Subject Percentile ranks compare a student's rank to other students who attempted the SAT Exam. Different subject tests will be incorrect to compare the Subject Test Language percentile to SAT Subject Test Math score.

How to get SAT and SAT Subject Test Scores?
Some colleges and universities accept SAT scores reports directly from the College Board, whereas you might have to send that by yourself to a few. This is the most challenging part of the application process to send SAT scores. Your test scores are available 4-5 weeks after the successful conduct of the examination. Once the scores are available, the College Board starts to send SAT Score Reports based on the college selected by the candidates. The College Board sends scores to the colleges that the candidate has chosen during the registration process. Those who do not choose any colleges will have to provide the scores themselves to the colleges applied.
For students who do not have access to the Internet can check the alternative methods to receive their SAT Scores –
- Paper Score Reports – Candidates who have registered for SAT through the mail and do not have a College Board account will receive Paper Score Reports.
- Scores by Phone – Candidates who have applied to receive their score via phone will get the Score report over the phone. However, an extra fee must be paid for the same.
- Candidates can access the scores by logging in to their College Board accounts and download the score receipts.
