What is CUCET?
Central University Common Entrance Test or CUCET is an entrance exam conducted to get admission into any of the 14 Central Universities across India. The exam is conducted once a year and lasts 120 minutes for undergraduate candidates. The exam is tentatively supposed to happen in the fourth week of May, and the result would probably be announced in June. The candidates have to focus only on two parts- A & B, which have only objective type questions. The syllabus for UG consists of diverse topics and has limited seats but a lot of scope for the candidates.
The examination gives a chance to the students to be tested upon their skills on the topics like- General awareness, English, General Aptitude, Reasoning and Analytical Skills. One has to be reasonably prepared to be on the top of the merit list in the CUCET results.

Why CUCET?
CUCET 2021 is one of the most prestigious entrance exams in the country, with many prospects after getting admission into the preferred UG course. The courses that are offered at graduation level under Central Universities vary from BBA to BA or B.Com. The student has to choose the program in which he/she wants to make their career. The Central Government governs central Universities; hence the prospect of getting the education from these Universities is vast. What are the eligibility criteria of CUCET?
The eligibility criteria for CUCET 2021 for the undergraduate program are:
  • Candidates should score a minimum of 50% marks in their +2 examination in the General category and 45% marks for SC/ST candidates.
  • Candidates should have taken up subjects in +2 depending upon the course they opt for.
What is the selection procedure for CUCET?
After the candidate has successfully attempted CUCET 2021 and cleared the exam, he/she has to sit for a counselling session organised by the authority. This session is created for all the qualifying candidates, and the seats are provided on Merit basis.
Counselling for CUCET happens individually at every Central University for the selected candidates. If the candidate’s name is on the counselling session’s list, he/she will be invited by the CUCET consortium. Then, on registering on the official website, the login credentials are given to the candidate. If the candidate has been called on to offline counselling, he/she will be required to reach the University campus and attend the session.

Part B, the questions will be domain-specific according to the 10+2 domain. This year onwards, the CUCET examination would also be used for undertaking admissions in 54 other National Universities in the courses related to Humanities and Commerce. Undergraduate courses for Delhi Universities would now be taking students for B.Com and B.B.A courses based on 50% board examination result and 50% on CUCET entrance test result. DU would be adopting this procedure as soon as it is finalized. The final syllabus and exam pattern for the courses chosen by the candidate will be announced on the CUCET website as and when the dates are announced.
Admissions to the Central University all over India are based on the CUCET score itself. Therefore, a candidate has to put in a lot of effort in cracking the examination with a Merit score.
