In 2015, the Ministry of Education, Government of India, started IIM Bodh Gaya. It is among the reputable institutions in India that have been renowned for producing the best leaders in the management profession. The JIPMAT exam is similar to the IPMAT exam for IPM, but this exam is only for Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu. This Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) is a 5-year dual-degree program at IIM Bodh Gaya, awarding a Bachelor of Business Administration after 3 years and an MBA upon completion. JIPMAT is the exam that is used for IIM Bodh Gaya (IPM). First introduced by IIM Indore and later adopted by IIM Bodh Gaya, IIM Ranchi, IIM Rohtak, IIM Jammu, IIM Amritsar, and IIM Shillong.

IPM is a one-seamless, five-year program that leads to both a BBA and an MBA degree. It saves students the stress and uncertainty that come with preparing to take one of the toughest entrance exams in India, the CAT. Another important advantage of IPM is that it is less competitive than other entrance exams, such as the JEE. Approximately 15,000 students take the JIPMAT (entrance test to IPM) examination for over 200 seats, compared to 13 lakh students on the JEE test, with minimal seats available in the top IITs.

Admission Process:

The candidates should undertake the JIPMAT exam, the entrance examination to the 5-year IPM program that provides admission to Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Business Administration. In this programme, candidates have the option to exit after three years with a BBA degree. The JIPMAT exam is only conducted for IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu.

Stage 1: Online Registration:

Interested candidates who meet the eligibility criteria should fill out the registration form for JIPMAT on the NTA website.
JIPMAT has an application fee of INR 2000 for the General/NC-OBC/EWS candidates and INR 1000 for the SC/ST/PwD/Transgender candidates.

Stage 2: JIPMAT 2026 Exam

JIPMAT 2026 will test candidates on their Quantitative Aptitude, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning and Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension skills. Note: Each question will carry 4 marks. There will be a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer. All the questions will be multiple-choice questions. Total duration: 150 minutes (no sectional time limits).

Based on minimum eligibility criteria, sectional cut-off percentiles (category-wise, e.g., General: 30% or above), and the JIPMAT Score 2026, candidates will be shortlisted. The JIPMAT selection process for IIM Bodh Gaya IPM does not include a personal interview round. The final merit list will be created based on JIPMAT score, academic performance, and gender diversity (supernumerary seats for females to promote balance). Shortlisted candidates will be announced by the end of May 2026 (Tentative).

Stage 4: Selection List Declaration:

The composite score of the following will be used to arrive at the Final Merit List:

Tie-breaking rules consider the overall JIPMAT score, Class XII score, Class X score, section scores, and date of birth.

In the second week of July the merit list is expected to be announced. Merit-based admission offers will be provided under the strict reservation rules of the Government of India, depending on the availability of seats in each category (General: ~50%, EWS: 10%, NC-OBC: 27%, SC: 15%, ST: 7.5%, PwD: 5%).

Stage 5: Admission to the IPM Batch 07 (Session 2026-31):

The declaration of the merit list will be succeeded by a provisional offer letter to the shortlisted candidates, inviting them to join the institution. Offers are accepted by the applicants who pay the Offer Acceptance Amount (OAA) of 50,000 (tentative and adjustable against fees) on the admission portal. A shortlisting process would involve inviting shortlisted candidates to report, where their documents would also be verified physically. The academic year will start in week three of August 2026 (Tentative).

JIPMAT Eligibility Criteria for IIM Bodh Gaya

To be eligible to participate in this program, candidates must meet the following criteria:

General, NC-OBC, and EWS Category:
- Minimum 60% in Standard X/SSC and Standard XII/HSC or equivalent examinations.
- Passed Standard X/SSC or equivalent in 2022 or later.
- Passed Standard XII/HSC or equivalent in 2024, 2025, or appearing in 2026.
SC, ST, and PwD Category:
- Minimum 55% in Standard X/SSC and Standard XII/HSC or equivalent examinations.
- Passed Standard X/SSC or equivalent in 2022 or later.
- Passed Standard XII/HSC or equivalent in 2024, 2025, or appearing in 2026.

Note 1:

Candidates who are likely to complete Standard XII/HSC or equivalent by the end of July 2026 are also eligible, subject to meeting the minimum eligibility criteria after the declaration of results.

Note 2:

The percentage of marks obtained in X and XII will be calculated based on the aggregate marks of all subjects that appear in the mark sheet/grade sheet, irrespective of the Board's regulations.
