AILET 2026 Notification

Applicants for admission to the National Law University (NLU) in Delhi must pass an All India Law Entrance Test, commonly known as AILET. Candidates interested in pursuing a career in law must take the AILET 2026 exam in order to pursue BA LLB (Hons). The program has an approximate of 120 seats available.

AILET 2026 will be conducted across 39 cities. If the number of candidates in any city is less than 100, then a test centre shall not be created in that city, and candidates will be allotted a centre as per their 2nd/3rd city preference indicated in the application form. Since NLU-Delhi does not participate in CLAT (Common Law Admission Test), it has been conducting AILET since its inception for 5 years B.A.LL.B (Hons).

Candidates seeking admission in NLU Delhi should review the overall number of seats available at the institute for the integrated program.

The National Law University, Delhi (NLU Delhi) has announced the total number of seats available in its Undergraduate law programmes for the upcoming academic year. See the table below for a breakdown of the seat intake by category.

NOTE: 5 seats each for Foreign Nationals and OCI/PIO for direct admission on merit). Foreign Nationals/OCI/PIO is exempted from AILET but should have 65% marks in the qualifying examination.

Step 1: Go to the NLU Delhi official website i.e. nludelhi.ac.in.

Step 2: Select the law program.

Step 3: Fill the AILET 2025-2026 application form.

Step 4: Upload the scanned files of required documents

Step 5: Proceed to pay the application fee.

The AILET 2026 application form will be released on August 7, 2025, and the last date to register is November 10, 2025. Candidates must select their application form and click the apply button to fill it with the required data. Candidates must complete all required fields on the application form.

If you compare the number of applicants per seat, then definitely AILET is a more challenging exam as compared to CLAT.

To get admitted to the NLU, Delhi, candidates in the general category are required to get test scores between 80 and 90.
