Indian Maritime University, Kochi

The Indian Maritime University is an initiative by the government of India, and was established in the year 2008 as a Central University. It has branches in Kochi, Chennai, Kolkata, and Visakhapatnam. It offers professional undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in a range of subjects. These include engineering, management, architecture, and logistics. The school of maritime management under the Indian Maritime University has two MBA programs and one BBA program. The BBA course is particularly in logistics, retailing, and e-commerce. This is available in Kochi and Chennai campus. Kochi has always been welcoming to the maritime industry and is often referred to as the maritime gateway to South India. The IMU campus has various facilities like workshops, fire station, Kochi Port Trust Hospital, etc. The school of maritime management was established in 2.6 acres of land and comprises all basic infrastructures in excellent conditions. It consists of lecture halls, computer labs, library, administrative office, canteens, hostels, and dining halls.

The university employs highly qualified professors who also have a noteworthy experience in teaching and management. Special visiting faculties are also invited from time to time to motivate students and instill in them a longing and spirit of success.
Admission procedure
  • Admission is based on merit of the previously qualifying exam.
  • Students have to fill application form and submit the required documents.
Eligibility Criteria
The student must have pass class XII with at least 60% marks in any stream and from recognized board. They must also have secured at least 50% inthe English exam.
